Full description
Each of these gorgeous little ammonites is individually handcrafted in fine (99.99% pure) silver with a hypoallergenic sterling silver posts and scrolls. It takes a couple of hours to make one pair. I make them in my workshop using traditional silversmithing techniques. The ammonite studs are oxidised to bring out the lovely pattern and then polished to a lovely shiny finish.
The hypoallergenic sterling silver, used here for posts and scrolls, is the Argentium silver. It's a relatively new type of sterling silver, but very popular amongst jewellers for a variety of reasons, one being its non-allergenic property. Argentium contains a higher amount of fine silver in comparison to standard sterling silver and, unlike the traditional sterling, doesn't contain copper, hence the non-allergenic property.
I offer three lengths of ear posts: standard 9.5mm, as well as 8mm and 6mm. The shorter lengths are often preferred for upper earlobe, but it all depends on the thickness of your earlobes and how snug you like your jewellery to sit against your skin.
