One of a batch I made looking at ornamental turning techniques, inspired by some of the table lamps in "Modern Family", the TV series, so trying to be tall and an artistic statement as well as a functional table lamp. Gold leaf has been used to pick out bits (I honestly can't remember if it is 24 carat or Dutch brass leaf!) then gold wax has been applied over it, after spirit wood stain and acrylic lacquers with colours were used...as I really wanted the wood grain to show through. It is second hand as we used it for a few months and as I am not an electrician I will take the plug off and the new owner will have to ask a competent person to reconnect it...I am sure you understand electrical safety comes first. I have added some "in progress"photos...I really enjoyed making it, but it did take ages, hence the high price...
