Full description

Handmade Bowl turned from a bowling ball.

This was a challenge but has turned out beautifully as the pictures and video hopefully show.

The blue marble like colouring is stunning and has a glass like finish. The pictures also show some of the transformation stages from ball to bowl! If you are interested you can see more pictures and videos of the process on my Instagram account(DanburyWoodWorkshop).

Although the bowl can be used as a functioning bowl, personally I feel it is more a display piece. I have had a search on and cannot find any others, making this a truly unique item.

The bowl measures 200mm in diameter and is 140mm high. The inside depth is 90mm.

I turned this in my workshop at home and as I mentioned it was a challenge! The outside was tough enough but the inside was like concrete. I constantly had to keep sharpening my chisels and in the end used some tungsten carbide cutters which did the trick. Then it needed sanding, more sanding, more sanding and more sanding, but the glass like finish was worth it!
