A mono print of a beautiful large feather.,
This beautiful feather is hand printed from a single feather using a mix of reds and blacks to achieve this stunning image.
A monoprint is a print 1/1 (not a photocopy) created by a printmaker using inks and a glass plate to produce the image onto paper. We use a large vintage printing press for our work.
The feather is inked using a mix of colours of intaglio inks to create this beautiful burgundy/red with hints of black image. The feather is then hand hand pressed. Great care has to be taken to prevent clogging and to ensure each tiny strand shows.
The feather is then hand pressed onto high quality art paper to create the image.
Each feather can only be used once which is why this is called a mono print. The feather has not been used multiple times to create several prints, nor is this a copy of the original. Because this is a monoprint you know you are buying a unique item.
