Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
It is a design based on a medal shape but as I have hung it diagonally it could equally be a bow or a cross.
At the centre is a big diamond. Sorry, not a real one but a beautiful multi-faceted crystal from an antique chandelier. I've also added diamonds in each corner.
The four main pieces are bright textured red glass and the eight side pieces blue and white to give a very patriotic colour scheme. This gives a three dimensional effect and together with the crystals makes it very sparkly indeed.
I've framed this piece with twisted wire which makes it nice and sturdy and gives neatness and strength.
I've christened it King Charles lll Coronation Medal.
The suncatcher is 12cm square and hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely attached to the top.
This will make a wonderful present for someone or just for yourself as it is very special and absolutely unique.
I never make two pieces exactly the same. Even from the same pattern I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.
