In my childhood home, we had a filing cabinet, and the top drawer was labelled 'apa apa'. This was the drawer containing miscellaneous, interesting or useful items which did not belong anywhere else. The fanzine is based on this idea.
In early 2016 I had a dream in which I was at the supermarket checkout looking at the magazines. I said aloud,
"why can't they make a magazine about something I'm actually interested in, like Proust, female fighters and paperweights and stuff?"
I posted this online because I thought it was funny. A few people said I should make it myself.. so I did.
