I love collecting things discarded, lost, forgotten, damaged or just not wanted any more. My favourite places are rivers and beaches, but also find great things at recycling centres and charity shops. I’m lucky to live near the River Tees, Co Durham and often walk the banks picking up broken glass, pottery anything that can be cleaned and re-created into something new. Bits and bobs of lives all waiting to find new homes.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Additional terms
Hand crafted Jewellery and framed artworks using pre loved and discarded ceramics. Ceramic material will show signs of wear and damage. Entire process is a creative experience from discovery to final picture, nothing planned or preconceived. All materials personally collected from river banks, charity shops, roadside, woods, recycle centres, beaches, wherever dropped, dumped or donated ceramics are found, cleaned and shaped into new stories. Each titled piece comes with bio of where the ceramic came from, known history, original information and when the artwork was created. Some ceramics collected are used as found, while others are cut randomly which will shape the final picture. Every piece is individual, nothing replicated, however, due to repetitive patterns in ceramics there will be some similarity but only through the ceramic material not in the final piece.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Created from Ceramic Discovered
River Tees, Barnard Castle June 2020
Re-Created into earrings January 2021
In June 2020 while out walking the banks of the River Tees, Barnard Castle, Co Durham I came across a small concentration of broken bits of pottery. A common practice of shoring up a river bank is to use hardcore that often has household ceramics crushed in. Some bits will remain where dumped but a lot will move with the river which adds to the experience of discovering.
I found a small piece of distinctive blue and white ceramic. After cleaning I gently clipped the piece with a tile cutter which broke into two very small shards. Similar in shape and part of the same pattern.
The idea is to re-use old ceramic, to create things from old lost pieces. The earrings are similar in shape but not exact. The intention is to keep the original character of the material. The jewellery is not meant to be highly polished or perfect.
These earrings are created from ceramic that has lived a life, ended up in the River Tees and now living again as jewellery.
Both earrings are approximately 8mm x 5mm x 2mm.
Sterling Silver 925 post and backs plus stoppers
Delivered in small brown box made from recycled materials and comes with short bio.
