I am a glass artist but approximately twice a year I will challenge myself. My challenges are usually: Picasso, Matisse, or Gustav Klimt, all of which I admire.
2023, I challenged myself to do a poly-print and acrylic painting. Picasso was my first choice as his work tends to be chunky and linear (Cubism).
I am pleased with the final piece. :)
This is one of three pictures, each one different.

Full description
Picasso has to be my favorite artist. I am continually drawn to his paintings.
QUOTE: 'Mandolin and Guitar is one within a series of nine vibrantly colored still lifes painted from 1924–25; each executed in a bold synthetic cubist style of overlapping and contiguous forms. Through the rounded, organic shapes paired with deep, saturated hues, Picasso successfully conveys his admiration and appreciation of contemporary developments in Surrealist painting; developments that heavily influenced him.'.
This is my interpretation of Mandoline. It originally started off as a poly-print, but rapidly changed to acrylic paint.
It was the calming feeling of painting that made me change media. No point in using a technique if it didn't give me pleasure. After a long day of teaching art, it was a pleasure to sit down to paint on my own.
Mandoline Et Guitar has been printed on good quality thick card and has been set in a simple square white frame.
Picture details will be written on the reverse of the frame before posting.
Frame measures: 43cm square, 2.5cm depth.
Picture measures: 30cm square.
Picture has my initials on bottom right 'AM'.
Frame has fittings to allow it to be hung.
NB: This is one of three paintings, each one different. This is: 2/3.
