I've always loved the character of antique furniture and have found a new way to indulge my love of colour, choosing striking or classic shades to give a new lease of life to neglected, shabby chairs. The hand caning takes several back breaking hours but the end result is always worth it!

Shapely antique chair refurbished and painted with pale blue chalk paint, the turned detail picked out in a distressed silver finish. Protected with a layer of clear wax. A fresh hand-caned seat gives it a new lease of life as an occasional or accent chair, even a bedside table. As the main photo shows, the back bars lean down on the left - the chair is quite sound, it seems the craftsman got his measurements slightly wrong when making the chair. Part of its charm! Seat height 44cm, back 82cm.

For collection near Stratford-upon-Avon (I can deliver locally) or I can wrap carefully if you would like to arrange a courier. Could deliver to Hitchin, London W11 or Cornwall, please get in touch to arrange.
