Full description

This sea glass ring features a genuine piece of UK sea glass (olive green), set in a real fine silver bezel on a hammered sterling silver band with a delicate, fine silver leaf.

The sea glass measures approximately 1cm x 0.8cm.

Ring size P, but may adjust up and down up to 2 sizes (approximately a US size 8).

Any marks in the sea glass are from its weathering in the sea, which is part of its history and any small imperfections in the silver are where it is hugging the unique shape of the sea glass.

Due to the nature of sea glass and the varying thickness of the glass, it will look different shades in different lights, which is all part of its magic.

Although I have strived for colour accuracy, please be aware that there may also be colour differences due to the way monitors and phones display colours.

Much sea glass dates back to the Victorian era and is often called mermaid tears. This comes from sailing lore. When sailors were lost at sea, the mermaids would cry and their tears would wash up on the shore.

However, your sea glass could be much older or even a little younger than this. Sea glass needs on average around 60 years in the sea to create that beautiful patina we love. It is a combination of physical tumbling in the water against rocks etc and a chemical reaction with the sea water.

It does with a sea glass information card and free mini polishing cloth.
