Full description

This textile art picture depicting sheep grazing in front of a backdrop of mountains has been created using strips of coloured silk and woollen fibres. The background has been formed by needle felting strips of coloured silk to a piece of backing felt and adding various woollen fibres to provide additional texture and detail. The sheep have been individually needle felted to the foreground using woollen fibres with black faces and legs stitched on. The needle felting process binds the fabric and fibres together and creates a wonderful texture to the work without the need for any sewing.

The completed picture has been framed in a wooden frame measures approximately 15cm x 16cm. Brass fittings and a hanging string have been added to the rear of the frame.

Please note: the photographs have been taken with the glass removed from the frame to avoid unwanted reflections.
