Normally when buying tape for bookbinding, it is always only grey. But I love to make bindings where the sewing and all functional parts are visible and part of the design, and so I was craving for colours and patterns to use. - And this is it!

Full description
This is a handwoven linen tape that I make on my inkleloom. It can be used in any craft where you'd use fabric tape, for decorative borders when sewing, to tie in your hair, to make key fobs or lanyards... But I am a bookbinder myself, and I use them specifically for bookbinding, and I am going to talk more about this application in what follows.
Get rid of boring grey herringbone tape. This rainbow tape can brighten up your books and make them shine. Instead of just hiding it behind a spine and glueing it between board and paste-down, you can lace it through your board so that it shows on the covers. You can also leave the spine uncovered and show off your colourful tape there.
The thread I am using for this rainbow tape is hand spun and hand-dyed (not by me). I am happy to sell you a longer continuous piece, however, 1.50m is the longest I can make.
Because the tape is hand woven, please allow for a bit of variance in thickness. The 1cm tape, is actually 0.9-1cm in width, and also the 1.4cm tape varies in width by about a mm.
The border of the tape can be either white or grey. In the pictures (and that's what I currently have in stock) you see the thinner tape with the white border, and the thicker tape with the grey border, but these can be combined as you wish.
I am happy to sell you pieces that are longer than 50cm in one piece. However, 1.50m is the longest I can make in one piece at this moment.
