The huge blooms of the dahlia 'Cafe au Lait' just looked like a watercolour painting, so I painted it larger than life to get all the tones and texture in. The same with the succulent with its pastel shades and its architectural structure. The oriental tree peony blooms are so complex, with deep magenta centres. This one is 'Nigata Akashigata'
The rose 'Generous Gardener' starts a deep pink bud and fades to a delicate shell pink.
