A long slow labour of love resulted in this handsome paperweight - I was drawn to the colour scheme of Red & Gold and had no plan as to what to design … the pattern took on a life of its own, over a period of several weeks and finally the ball is complete.

Hand cast from robust plaster and painted in Mandala style, this unique one of a kind weighty sphere in true red and gold makes a stunning paperweight or can be gazed upon as a decorative item or an aid to meditation, the strong and rich colours exude warmth and energy.
Several layers of acrylic paint have been applied to give a 3D effect, which is pleasantly tactile when cupped in the palm of your hand.
The sphere is about 7.5cm tall, 10cm wide and weighs quite a hefty 454g. This item is totally unique one-off artwork and has been signed by me on the reverse.
