Full description

Solid sterling silver running hare brooch, who is having so much fun chasing the moons reflection.

Handmade from solid sterling silver and fully hallmarked

Length of brooch is 7.3 cm , hight 3.1 cm,

The 6mm round Rainbow moonstone is set in a rubover cabochon setting attached to the front of the brooch and moves freely.

This brooch is suitable for open weave fabrics such as knitted fabrics, shawls, jumpers and such.

This will arrive in a box via royal mail special delivery

How was i made.

The hare was cast using the delft clay sand casting method, where molten silver is poured into an impression made by a hand carved wax model. One the casting has been completed it was soldered to the brooch which represents the fields, made from solid sterling silver wire, this wire forms the brooch front and pin fastening in one solid piece. the cabochon setting is then soldered using rings to supend from the front of the brooch. After the brooch came back from being assayed and hallmarked the piece is given a final polish and the rainbow moonstone set in place.
