applique & freehand embroidered floral victorian zombie lady notebook cover with A6 sketchbook inside.
this innocent looking zombie girl looks so pretty in her bright pink corset dress and coordinating flower crown. her pink painted lips contrast with her deathly pale corpse grey cotton lawn face.
i individually hand-cut each tiny piece of fabric, and then (ever so patiently!) layer & applique them onto cotton calico to build up the image, before “drawing” the intricate details on freehand, using free motion embroidery.
there's no computerised wizardry here; each cover is made entirely on a domestic sewing machine.
it's entirely cut, stitched and handmade , with care, by me, ensuring each notebook cover is unique, well made and securely constructed.
the slipcover itself is made from heavy weight calico which has been pre-washed several times so it’s soft and should not shrink when washed.
the seams are overlocked and topstitched and the cover is stiffened with interfacing.
the calico cover is washable and re-usable, simply replace the A6 sketchbook when it's full. the sketchbooks are manufactured in the UK - quality casebound hard cover books, containing all-media cartridge paper.
my design is based on an original drawing by Little Black Heart & is used with permission.
