The south-eastern coast of Jersey sees dramatic changes every low tide, with miles of sand, gullies, reefs and rock pools becoming exposed twice a day, bringing a wealth of rarely witnessed marine life into view, and the receding tide leaves seaweed cast along the shoreline and draped over the rocks. It was truly a thrill to forage for the wonderful weed used in my artwork (All restrictions for collecting seaweed faithfully followed) Some of the seaweed I used: Egg Wrack, Bladder Wrack, Carrageen, Sea Lettuce, Serrated Wrack, Sea Spaghetti and Cocks Comb.

Part of a unique collection of Cyanotype photograms, using seaweed I collected from the coast of Jersey in the Channel Islands. Thinking I would try something different with this collection, I used a variety of photo printing papers, instead of the usual watercolour and wow they did not disappoint.
Named ‘Fruits De Mer’ she is a delectable soup of seaweed, swirling in cool blue bubbles, she is numbered and signed on the reverse and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity as an Original Artwork 1/1.
The MOUNTED PHOTOS show the final Photogram, the others show it being created.
Created on archival 265g Satin/Oyster photo printing paper and hinge mounted to a backboard and White mount both acid free and in a fully recyclable protective bag.
Mounted Size 11” x 14” (27.94 x 35.56cm) ready for you to place into a standard 11” x14” frame of your choice.
Aperture size is 8” x 10” (20.32 x 25.4cm)
The photogram will be posted out in an all board envelope which is reusable and recyclable. I purchase packaging made from recycled products whenever I can.
