Full description

Original Hand Embroidery Tracey Emin - Olympia

Claire first discovered Tracey Emins work when she visited the Sensation Exhibtion at the Royal Academy.

Seeing this exhibition changed her life forever and she knew she was possible. Everything made sense and her journey to become an artist began.

This piece has hundreds of hours of hand stitching.

The piece is called Olympia as Claire feels that Tracey is similar to Manets Olympia. Staring down the art world and being true to herself, always, in spite of attempts to shame her into silence and lots of criticism.

This piece has multi layered meanings for women everywhere. From judgement to shaming and everything in-between. Stare them down and step into yourself.

Dimensions 20in x 20in

I have included a photo of the rear working of my embroidery.

Framed professionally by James at Dorset Framers with museum glass.

Designed by Claire Mort in Dorset
