We love visiting patisseries in Paris - the cakes are like little works of art! We also love drawing and creating characters, so we wrote this story for our son Thomas and lovers of cake everywhere.

'Monsieur Gateaux' tells the story of a little girl as she discovers a new patisserie in Paris where cakes magically appear in the window.
Madeleine loves her Maman and Papa and her favourite lemon yellow dress, but most of all she loves cake. From a poor suburb in Paris, she dreams of becoming a pastry chef when she grows up.
One day, on her way to school, Madeleine passes a brand new patisserie. She becomes fascinated by the cakes that magically appear in the window, the mysterious owner 'Monsieur Gateaux', and the other customers. She dreams of being able to try one of the delicious pastries, but doesn't think she will ever have enough pocket money. But tomorrow is Madeleine's birthday...
