I wanted a change! I usually use only fusing glass, but decided to try combining the glass with other materials. In this case it was ceramic and glazes.

I am pleased with the final result. :)

Full description

Handmade ceramic and fused glass picture of fish.

Gallery price: £42, from me: £28.00

This little picture is a combination of a bullseye fusing glass background combined with ceramic fish.

The glass background has been melted in the kiln at 750oC. This lets the glass relax and show up the rich colours and swirls of wispy natural pattern.

I made the ceramic fish using 'buff clay' which was bisque fired at 1000oC. The details were then painted on the fish using a glassline glaze. The fish were then fired at 750oC to allow the glaze to bond with the clay.

The fish are curved so this little picture is three-dimensional.

Has fittings for hanging but can olso be displayed on a flat surface.

Wood frame: 20cm x 15cm x 2.8cm depth.

Picture: 17cm x 12cm x 5mm depth.

Makers details and signature on the back.
