Full description
This beautiful pale blue scarf has been made from merino wool fibres and decorated with recycled sari silk fibres. The scarf has been wet felted using fine layers of light blue merino wool with a surface covering of recycled sari silk fibres. The wet felting process causes the wool and silk fibres to bind together to make a stable fabric.
The silk fibres are a multitude of colours, predominantly blue, chosen to blend with the merino wool backing. The silk not only adds colour but also texture and a beautiful sheen to the surface.
Please note: The coloured silk fibres have been added to one side of the scarf only with the reverse left plain.
The resulting scarf Is lightweight, soft and warm and measures approximately 178cm (70") x 28cm (11") and is long enough to tie in a knot or wrap around the neck for extra warmth if required.
Wool is a natural fibre making it eco friendly, sustainable and biodegradable. It is breathable and reacts to the body temperature giving warmth in the winter but cool in the summer making this an all season accessory. A lovely gift for mothers day or any other occasion.
The scarf will be shipped wrapped in tissue paper with a card explaining the felting process and washing instructions.
Handwash only in warm water. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
