Full description
A handsome highland cow is the subject of this textile picture. The picture has been made using strips of silk fabric in various colours which have been needle felted to a piece of backing felt. Various other silk and wool fibres have been added in small amounts to blend the colours together, enhance the picture and add detail and texture. The process of needle felting the fabric and fibres creates a wonderful texture to the work and binds everything together, negating the need for any sewing.
The completed picture has been framed with a white card mount. The wooden frame measures approximately 15cm x 16cm and the picture size is 10cm x 10cm. Brass fittings and a hanging string have been added to the rear of the frame.
Please note: the photographs have been taken with the glass removed from the frame to avoid unwanted reflections.
