This is part of a series of pieces using collage to create surface. I was inspired by the fragility of paper as it is ripped, torn and cut and wanted to capture this in a more permanent form. Working with collage and casting also offered the chance to replicate found object which I feel offers an interesting contrast to the shallow surface captured with paper.

Full description
Small, shallow dish with a slight relief surface created by a collaging and casting process. The piece has been made from white clay, with underglaze and glaze used to pick up the details of the collaged surface. Each of my pieces are handmade and display the quirks and individuality that this process offers. This small dish could be used for trinkets or just add a decorative accent to an interior. Size approximately 14cm width & heights and 2cm depth.
