Full description
"Tell it to the Bees" is a unique work of textile art, featuring hand embroidery. Its warm colour palette is and the gentle sheen of the embroidery threads look wonderful all year round. This work is a partner to "Sun-Ripened Crops", also listed in my shop.
To create this work, I have gathered snippets of some of my most treasured fabrics. Kantha-style stitches give this piece the comforting texture of a miniature quilt.
This work's title refers to the ancient practice of knocking on the family hives and telling the bees about family births, deaths, marriages, arrivals and departures. Folklore says that if this isn't done, the bees may leave, die, sting, or stop producing honey.
My gentle art will warm the space in which it sits. A framed work, it is ready for you to display or gift to a loved one, allowing you to mark key life events in a thoughtful, permanent way.
Your work is mounted and presented in white 6" square, premium glazed box frame - this allows the art's texture space to bloom. The frame is suitable for wall or desk display.
