The lovely brooches are great to cheer up a winter coat on a dull day. They are made from a combination of felted wool jumpers and craft felt, hand stitched and decorated with a contrasting button. Poppies are made in two styles: first there is the simple style with three flat petals. Second there is the four-petaled version where each petal is made from a folded circle of fabric. This design creates a chunkier, 3D flower.
The red poppies obviously resemble a Remembrance Day poppy and I will donate 50p from each sale to the British Legion Poppy appeal.
When choosing your poppy, please indicate which style flower you prefer and your chosen colour.

Last year my husband discarded a red, pure wool jumper, which had become somewhat scruffy. I immediately saw the potential for making felted wool items. After a few hot runs through the washing machine the jumper was very small and beautifully felted and ready to be made into poppies! It great to that this jumper can have another life and I’m also enjoying putting some of my extensive button collection to good use!
