Hello! Welcome to my Folksy Art Shop.
I am a UK based artist living in the West Midlands where I produce the original linocut prints and paintings. My work is inspired by all the lovely places I have travelled to and collected photo's and memories of over the years. Nature and landscape are 2 of my biggest inspirations.
I graduated from Birmingham Polytechnic in Graphic Design back in 1988 and have practised my art ever since. For a number of years I specialised in pen and ink drawings but over the past few years I have explored other media, and I'm always open to trying new materials and art forms.

Bindweed, or Convolvulus, is one of the wildflowers I remember from my childhood, and I always associate it with my Black Country childhood.

Full description
This is an original mixed media drawing. It is my exploration of the section of the River Tame as it runs through the Black Country. I have used historical images and my own photographs as sources for this imaginary scene. The girl in the foreground represents the spirit of the River Tame as it runs through the old industrial Black Country, the spirit of nature is all around her, showing that nature survives despite the pollution caused by so many years of industry in the area, the grey figure behind her is the industrial spirit (toil and pollution), and the river flows through the old factories in the distance towards a purer place, represented by the bindweed in the foreground.
The artwork measures approx. 11.1 inches x 14 inches There is a small border around the picture where the drawing was taped to the board. It will come to you unmounted and unframed.
It was created using a mixture of professional grade watersoluble coloured pastels and pencils, ink and graphite pencil on watercolour paper.
I have signed the painting on the back, along with the title and date of creation. I will also supply a small Certificate of Authenticity.
I will send the painting out to you via 1st class Royal Mail Signed For delivery service.
