Having made a number of shaped trinket boxes in oak and walnut, I wanted to enhance the surface decoration and experimented with inlaying the top with epoxy. The pattern was cut through the box lid, inlaid, sanded, sanded & sanded and then coated with a drying oil finish, which i hope you agree, provides a very attractive and durable finish.
I have tried to choose patterns which appeal to both men and women thus providing gift opportunities for either sex.

A beautiful oblong shaped jewellery / trinket box made from solid oak. The top is decorated with an inlaid pattern of music stand with musical notes. Externaly the box is finished in a durable light satin sheen, internally the surfaces are coated in a soft navy blue flocking. The design, rather than being painted, has been cut through the lid and then inlaid with black epoxy, which will not degrade with polishing and will maintain the boxes appearance for years.
Dimensions 130mm x 100mm x 50mm.
The occasional application of a good wax polish will maintain the boxes appearance for years to come.
Designed by John King in Old Malden, Worcester Park
