Lovely slab of Rippled Ash picked up from a local supplier, I just had to have it! The ripple comes from the way the tree grows affecting the grain pattern, creates a almost 3D effect when the wood is polished.

Full description
Rippled Ash Serving platter. 258 x 34mm (25.8 x 3.4 cm) Gently curving Ash platter with a double rim. The piece has a large section of creamy Ash outer wood and a section of darker streaked Olive ash to one side. The piece is in rippled Ash, which creates lovely patterns in the wood, that look almost 3D in the light. It would make a lovely serving platter or a decorative item.
