I had a chance to get some really nice wood from a small supplier in Wales, who cuts all his wood locally from naturally fallen timber and processes it himself. The size of this piece allowed for a really nice shape.

Full description
Very deep large Spalted Beech bowl, 218 x 120mm (21.8 x 12 cm) A stunning large bowl, for use as a Salad, fruit or serving bowl. This bowl has a narrow base curving up to a wider top, with a narrow rim. It has lovely swirls of colour and grain as well as spalting lines in black. Spalting is a natural process within the wood after the tree is cut.
Designed by Robert Gibbs in his home workshop in Wiltshire
