Full description
This bee was the first to be made this year, for the very final FIFTY BEES exhibition. I made her in honour and memory of my father, who died just before I made her.
He was a major jazz fan, favouring trad jazz and gramophone players, so these tins are really evocative for me.
And red, well, Red makes me think of dad.
She sits next to bee 202 Andrena lathyri - Female Burbage Mini-miner (in the small antique card thread container) and bee 224 Eucera Nigrescen, or the Male Scarce Long-Horned Bee (in the larger leather pot) - neither of these are listed for sale at present
