The artwork measures 41x31cm and is supplied mounted on bottle green mount board and is sold framed.

This is part of a series of illustrations that take a comical look at the inventions and imaginings of the victorian era.
The drawings are influenced by the naturalist drawings of the 18th and 19th centuries. It was often the case that the artist commissioned to produce the illustrations had often never seen the creatures to be drawn and would rely only on written descriptions, the results were often humorously inaccurate.
