I love the idea of repurposing discarded items. Collecting empty shells on the beaches and coves in Dorset inspired me to do something a little more creative with them so that they could be used around the home.

These lovely shells can be used as Jewellery Dishes, Trinket Dishes, Tea light holders and add a touch of creativity to any room.

Full description

Ocean Vibes Blue 3. Hand painted Unique Marble Painted Dorset Oyster Shells using a mixture of poured and painted Acrylic Inks and Resins.

My inspiration for the Ocean Vibes range stems from Sea caves, or Littoral caves, which are formed primarily from erosion caused by waves. They can be formed along the ocean coast and lakeshores where water impacts bedrock. To reflect this act of nature I have deliberately painted the insides of the shell to look like a weathered rock surface with waves splashing up the sides. At the bottom of the shell I have layered paints upon resins to create a deep crystal clear pool. I hope that you agree that this creates a wonderful feeling of looking into a gorgeous sea grotto.
