Crows are among the most intelligent creatures in the animal kingdom. They are one of the few birds that use tools, grasping a stick to reach grubs and insects in tight crevices. Their plumage appears black from a distance, but close up it is a rainbow of dark iridescent hues of purples, blues and even greens. When you see them hopping around, searching for food, you can sense just how intelligent these birds are. Perhaps this is why they figure so much in our folklore and mythology.
In this painting I have tried to capture the intelligent sentience of this beautiful bird.

Full description
An original acrylic painting of a crow, on acrylic canvas paper. Beautiful velvety black plumage against an abstract yellow ochre, with touches of green. Looks stunning in a black frame, or perhaps a shabby grey wood frame.
The canvas paper is 12 x 10 inches, with a pure white border of about 1 inches left around the edges. So the actual image size is approximately 10 inches tall by 8 inches wide. Thus, it could fit a frame intended for either 12 x10 inches, or cropped a little into a 10 x 8 inches frame. I prefer the larger size and it is these that are shown in the frame image mock ups. The painting is sold unframed and unmounted, shown in the close up photos.
The painting is discreetly signed in the bottom left corner. It will be sent with a card backing in a protective cellophane packet, in a sturdy cardboard envelope.
