I love these little guys, I have quite a few who I affectionately call The Chaffia because they like to take over everything.
This chaffinch is created using the technique of pyrography, which is burning on wood. It's coloured with acrylic ink and finished with satin artist varnish.
The heart is approximately 10cm x 10cm on 2mm plywood.
Pyrography can fade in direct sunlight and wood is best situated away from extremes of temperature and humidity.
This is a handmade item on natural wood so there will be imperfections in the grain.
Colours can appear differently on different monitors and devices.
