I’m Emma and I run EmmaWadeART, and small arts studio in Surrey where I make Bespoke Sustainable Jewellery/ Trinket Shell Dishes.
I started making Sustainable Jewellery dishes in 2018 as a hobby but when my friends and family started asking me to make some for them I decided to open a shop on Folksy and to see if I could appeal to a wider audience.
In my past I have always loved painting and experimenting with mixed mediums and having worked for many years in the Design Industry I can now enjoy a slower pace of life being completely creative, independent, in my own little rural haven of calm, where I can not only come up with new creative ideas but I can bring those idea into fruition to then sell them which is something I had always dreamed of doing but had never enough confidence to actually go ahead and do, until now! I have opened my Folksy Shop online and welcome you to come and browse.

Full description
Blue and White Fish, Dorset Scallop Shells. Can be used as Jewellery Dishes, Trinket Dishes, Tea light holders. Bathroom Decor or Salt and Pepper Dishes
Process:
These shells come straight from the beautiful shores of Dorset. Once they are back in my studio each one is then thoroughly cleaned and scrubbed and left to air dry.
At stage 2 the shells are then sprayed gloss white and are then ready for the pattern to be applied.
Once the decoupage is dry another layer of glue is applied and then they are left to air dry for another day.
Once throughly dried each shell is meticulously painted gold, using a liquid real gold leaf, and then a layer of epoxy crystal clear resin is applied to the inside of shell to create a hard wearing gloss finish.
The shells size: will be between 11-12cm, Each shell trinket dish will have subtle variations which are caused by the natural variations in the shape and size of the sea shells used, as well as a result of the hand crafting painting method and the Decoupage.
The shells are presented in a natural craft gift box nestled in white shredded presentation paper and tissue paper to protect the shell. It is accompanied with thank you note (printed onto premium white 300gsm water colour paper) and a thank you sticker.
