A selection of three illustrations I created with coloured pencils.
I like to press any flowers I get my hands on so I can come back years later and draw them. I’ve been doing that for over ten years now and have lots of cute flowers, leaves and grass in splat form. They live (and are mostly pressed) in a few pretty books which are also nice to collect.
I like to draw pressed flowers as they look so interesting, and I like the way the colours change. Sometimes more muted and aged but sometimes the bright colours seem more vivid – perhaps because the other colours have paled; but the thing I really like about the pressed flower is that it’s still here; preserved.
The flower this is based on (I never learned its name) has been pressed between pages for about five years or so – I think it would be nothing but dust if I hadn’t intervened and that sort of makes me happy.
In the tradition of continuing with this flower preservation I like to draw them, too.

There are three cards (with envelopes) to choose from:
1 Pressed Flower Heart,
2 Orchid,
3 Orchid and Buttercup
All of my illustrations are based on pressed flowers (from the pressed flower illustration range I am working on).
Drawn with coloured pencil on white paper and made into a greeting card.
Printed on 350gsm card and unlaminated.
They are A6 cards when folded (105mm x 148mm).
Price includes a brown envelopes.
