Full description
Hand made plaque with Elder Futhark Runic inscription which reads "Hail Odin", and featuring a solar cross, or Odins cross, symbol. Designed and burned by hand, with a coat of gloss to protect it.
Please note that these are made to order, using ethically sourced wood from a local woodland.
Due to the natural nature of the materials used in production, each piece will be unique in terms of grain, knots and shape. The font will be the same but as each piece is hand drawn, written and burned, slight variations may occur.
Can be hung on the wall, or added to an altar in whichever way you choose.
Truly unique and beautiful, with a raw primal soul, this is a chance to own a true, one of a kind, piece of Germanic Folk Art.
"The birch is repeatedly associated with birth and new beginnings in both Germanic and Celtic cultures, and this is intrinsically tied to the mundane nature of the tree. We can see this reflected in the meaning of both the Proto-Germanic rune Berkanan, as well as the Ogham letter Beith. The pure white bark of the birch, combined with its association with fire-cleared land, explain why it is believed by many to be a purifying tree. Its rapid colonization of bare land tells us why this tree is associated with birth and new life. As above, so below is an ancient concept: what a thing does in the mundane world is a good representation of its function on the spiritual or magical plane."
