I've always loved Morris & Co patterns and this range of fabric - called Holiday - uses a variety of Morris' designs and incorporated them in rich tones for Christmas!
These designs were from an original pattern book held in the V & A archives called 'Persian' (in blue shades) and 'Foliage' (in red shade). These were both designed John Henry Dearle.
Dearle was Art Director of Morris & Co after the death of Morris in 1896 and he took inspiration from Morris' earlier work of swirling and intertwined foliage and flowers and also in Turkish and Persian art.
And, because these designs are timeless, can be hung around the home all year round!

Bring a touch of Arts & Crafts style with this William Morris fabric button ornament!
Gorgeous and rich colours feature in these William Morris & Co fabrics, been made in collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Here I have created a large fabric button using a 4.8cm button blank.
Blue – Is a pattern called Persian, also designed by JH Dearle in 1904 and features lovely rich shades of blue of a stunning three sectioned flower surrounded by stamens, curling and unfurling leaves and other flourishes.
Both have rich metallic line art that adds a touch of opulence to the gorgeous patterns and has coordinating coloured ribbon that have been secured to the back with a plywood (FSC approved) disc. The disc I've hand painted in a rich blue metallic artists quality paint, followed by a layer of varnish.
The is ribbon open ended, so you will be able to attach the ornament at any length you prefer; the ribbon length is approximately 16cm
This ornament is perfect to decorate your home, a door knob, anywhere!
Your button ornament will come to you in an eco cotton drawstring bag - perfect for gifting to the Morris-mad fan (or to keep as a gift for yourself of course!)
