These decorations are made from real vintage optical lenses that have been hand painted with a snowy Christmas tree design and hung on a naturally dyed ribbon.
You will receive a randomly picked design and ribbon colour.
Each lens features a snowy tree with gold decorations.
The lenses are approximately 3.5cm in diameter with a height of 5.2 cm approximately including the metal rim
These lenses make a great gift for anyone working in optics, or that likes quirky vintage Christmas decorations, though I have to admit I would be keeping it up all year round!
Originally used by opticians to determine the most appropriate lense required by their patients, each lens is a little piece of history. These lenses have worked hard and so the patina varies on each lens. This listing is for the bronze colour shown in the photographs and because of their former life some lenses have frosted patches, markings and/or sizes etched into them which would have assisted the optician with their work, and they come in a range of thicknesses due depending on the strength of the lens.
A great gift for anyone working in optics, or anyone who likes quirky decorations for the festive season. Also lovely to decorate a Christmas gift.There are more designs on their way!
