The traditional birthstone for January and the sign of Capricorn is garnet.
Garnet is also the stone for the second wedding anniversary.
Capricorn is ruled by the planet Jupiter, whose stone is lapis lazuli.
I have designed these earrings based around both these iconic stones.
In ancient Egyptians, Pharaohs were entombed with garnet and lapis lazuli jewellery, both considered prized possessions for the afterlife.
Garnet was also favoured by warriors, who believed they had the power to shield their wearers from harm.
Lapis lazuli was considered a stone of the Gods, a stone of wisdom and truth.
