The inspiration for this clock was....I had a spare clock mechanism!
I found a suitable sized piece of ash from the stock of offcuts I keep for such projects. The waney edge gives the clock a natural feel, helping to exhibit the grain and colours in the ash.
Black walnut always contrasts well with ash, so I used small dots of walnut to keep the face simple in design.

Additional terms
Wood is a natural product that continues to move. It moves with the seasons, and in modern times, moves with the central heating! When making things from wood, I try and allow for the movement when designing. But it doesn't always work....so if a small crack appears, it's just the wood doing it's thing.
