This piece was inspired by a long, late summer walk - warm sun, crops ripe in the field, the anticipation of harvest.

Full description
Flax Seeds is an abstract fabric collage that is hand-stitched and embellished with embroidery. It is a partner work to "They Danced by the Light of the Moon", also available in my shop.
To create this work, I have gathered snippets of fabric in a colour palette of late summer. I have then brought it to life with hand-embroidered embellishment. Stars, seedheads and kantha-style stitches give this piece the feel of a miniature quilt - warm and comforting.
The Flax crop has been ripened by the sun and awaits its harvest. The surrounding fields are richly coloured in the tones of late summer.
This small picture will warm the space in which it sits, perfect for lovers of the great outdoors to keep a piece of nature with them year-round. Its uplifting palette of natural tones will sit well in many settings; being framed it is a complete gift - ready to share.
The work is mounted and presented in a premium white 6" square glazed box frame - this allows the picture's texture space to bloom. The frame is suitable for wall or desk display.
