I created the pastel scene based on a painting done some years ago when we rented a house on a Scottish estate. During Autumn and Winter we had the woodland walks to ourselves. We were always cold in the winter but the beautiful woodland walk was always rewarded with a mug of hot chocolate by the fire.
The low winter sun cast its light on the trees in a sumptuous range of colours from burning oranges in the trees to midnight blue shadows on the woodland floor.
'Wellies and hot chocolate'....mmmmm....
