I have taken the last few months off from woodturning to concentrate on my botanical water colour work a few examples of which you can view on my Instagram account. However, I have picked up the chisels again and will be adding new items and old favourites. The latest additions are two attractive sycamore drinks trays but more items to come.
I like the idea of using gilt waxes and coupled with the ebonIsing process can give a striking contrast. The use of an open grained wood such as Ash lends itself to this process

Full description
A pretty little pair of candlesticks turned in Ash. They have an ebonised lacquer finish and finally a gilt wax has been applied. They are designed for a standard tapered candle.
