Higger Tor is a large outcrop of gritstone on the eastern moors of the Dark Peak, in the north of the Peak District National Park. Standing just within the boundary of Sheffield and overlooking the Burbage Valley to the East and the vast expanse of the Hope Valley to the West, it is a popular spot for walking, climbing and contemplating. A quick escape from the confines of city living, its wilderness allows us to reconnect with the natural landscape, and is therefore a very special place for many people.

Higger Tor from Carl Wark, Peak District

Original drawing by Sheffield artist Sian Vernon

A4 Unframed Graphite Drawing on Smooth Hot Pressed Watercolour Paper.

With this sketch I have tried to convey the slightly ethereal, wild, brooding, windswept quality of the tor and its place high up on Hathersage moor with dark stormy skies looming overhead.

- Size: A4 (210 x 297mm)

- Graphite on watercolour paper

- One of a kind artwork

- Unframed - the frame pictured is not included

- Artist’s initials on the front and signature on the back
