The main pearls are silver grey nugget pearls with flat sections and square edges, which have grown inside the mussels in that shape. Pearls are often not precisely round and can be oblong, stick shaped, pear shaped or entirely freeform, depending on the species of shellfish and how old they are.

Full description
Classic pearl drop earrings featuring silver grey nugget pearls with interesting irregular edges. This minimalist design features single natural 10 mm freshwater pearls with a stunning high lustre mounted on hand crafted wires and ear fixings made in my East Sussex studio. Pearls are the June birthstone and would make a wonderful present. The earrings measure 20 mm in or 3/4" in length, including the fish hook wires.
They come beautifully packaged in a decorated black card gift box, which can be recycled if desired.
