Thanks for visiting Tuesday Ceramics! The shop is temporarily closed while I work on a restock. It will reopen on the 29th November. In the meantime, you can follow my adventures over on Instagram @TuesdayCeramics and Facebook.com/TuesdayCeramics. See you soon! x
A few things inspired this vase. Wobbly bits, a naughty campsite dog and empty jars of apple cider vinegar gummies.
Also, everyday beauty. The little things. Coming out of various lockdowns made me want to raise the profile of humble store cupboard staples to centre stage. A vessel to display with pride.
I like making tactile, functional everyday objects that spark joy when you use them.
The Sketchy Pippin pattern itself is adapted from the regular Pippin pattern. It was originally named after a naughty dog we met on our camping holiday this year. We say this little scamp running amok on the campsite most days. She didn't care for social distancing.

The small blush pink Sketchy Pippin ceramic vase by Tuesday Ceramics.
This is a small, slab-built ceramic vase that I originally modelled around an empty jar of apple cider vinegar gummies (thanks, Mum!). True story :)
It's a smaller sized vessel, ideal for displaying small posies or bunches of dried flowers, pens or small plants on your desk.
Since it's created from slabs of clay, rather than thrown on the pottery wheel, it has the qualities and character of a slab-built vase, so there are uneven wobbly bits and it is completely unique. This is what I love about it.
The colour of this glaze is hard to capture, as it changes in the light and varies around the vase. It's best described as neutral, very pale or blush pink or beige with a hint of pink.
Since I like to play with texture, and I fired this vase at a high temperature, the bottom of the vessel is exposed clay, enabling you to see and feel the raw material underneath.
Other things to note:
- The glaze is food/drink safe
- Approximately 9cm x 7.5cm
- Suitable for the dishwasher, although hand washing is recommended
- Signed 'Tuesday Ceramics' on the base
- Dried flowers not included x
