The majority of my work is inspired by the countryside surrounding my home and flowers feature largely in that. My local wildflower meadow was a haven of colour and peace during spring and summer this year.
In making the Daisy stand I wanted to create a piece that captured a snapshot of daisies growing in a field - something which could be appreciated all year round and especially during grey winter months.

This freestanding fused glass glass Daisy stand would make a pretty addition to any windowsill, catching the light beautifully on a sunny day. It can also be placed against a plain pale wall where the colours look most vibrant.
This piece is in on sale as it has some cloudy bloom on the top section of the back picked up from the mould used to create the bent shape. It is not terribly noticeable but not perfect as I would like my work to be. For this reason the Daisy stand has been reduced from £28 to £16 with just £2 postage.
It is fiddly to make as all the delicate petals, stems and leaves are cut by hand but the finished piece is I think worth the effort. I like the way glass can be manipulated into different shapes with heat and took advantage of this when creating the freestanding aspect of this design.
The Daisy stand, 20cm tall and 7cm wide, will appeal those who love flowers especially daisies, gardens and the countryside. It will be packed securely for delivery in a double walled box and protected with as much recyclable material as possible.
