I’ve been working with glass for 18 years now. Ever since I first picked up my chosen glass and glass cutter, I’ve been hooked. I am fascinated by the properties of glass, the array or colours and the processes that that can be used to create different effects. There is always something new to learn and new tools and materials to invest in. It really is addictive!
What I especially love about working with glass are the colours. From crystal clear to shimmery dichroic to opaque pure blocks of colour that will never fade or dull.

Full description
Fused glass hanging with copper foil Christmas tree design and dichroic glass baubles. These fused glass trees make wonderful small gifts, and look lovely either hung in a window or on your Christmas tree.
To make these Christmas trees, I start by cutting 2 triangles of transparent art glass. I then use a scalpel and hand cut my delicate Christmas tree from thin copper foil. I sandwich the tree between the glass and fuse it overnight in my kiln. The copper turns to a lovely deep red colour in the heat of the kiln. The next day, I add dichroic glass dots which I've made previously and put the hanging back in the kiln. It is then fused agin overnight at a slightly lower temperature so the dots gently tack fuse to the glass, giving them a 3D effect. Each tree is handcut, therefore no 2 are exactly the same. Comes ready to hang on a silver wire.
