I love knitting in the round and decided to make this hat because I liked the lacey pattern and this yarn is so beautifully soft.

This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Full description

Incredibly soft hypoallergenic luxury baby hat.

Whether you’re looking for your baby's first hat or a special gift for family or friends, this luxurious hat is perfect for little heads.

The hat was knitted using traditional techniques with 4 double-pointed needles so there are no seams or knots to irritate sensitive little heads. The lacey pattern is accentuated when the hat is on.

After much research, the yarn I’ve chosen for this is a mix of 80% baby alpaca and 20% Tussah silk, both of which are naturally hypoallergenic. The baby alpaca fleece is from UK alpaca farms so you can be assured that they meet all the necessary animal welfare standards. Alpaca fibres contain microscopic air pockets which make it naturally thermo-regulating.

Tussah silk is also known as Peace Silk because, unlike Mulberry silk, the silk worms are not harmed during its production. Instead the silkworms are allowed to fulfil their natural lifecycle and the cocoons are only harvested once they have abandoned them. The yarn is also dyed in the UK.

Size: 26 cm circumference; 36 cm when stretched.

Wash at 30°, dry flat and do not tumble dry
